waste managementWaste Management

The Low Level Radioactive Waste database from ESiT was written specifically for the nuclear industry and ensures that organisations are able to safely and efficiently fulfil their responsibilities for managing and disposing of waste produced on site.

LLRAD database

We have implemented a low level radioactive waste database to manage the control and disposal of waste according to the requirements of International Quality and Environmental Standards. The system ensures that the management of low-level waste items follows the correct processes as they are safely managed and removed from the site. Segmented gamma scanner results are logged and the loading of objects into ISO containers is recorded for each item. This is of particular importance to ensure that the ISO containers meet limits for weight and activity.

workflow control

Each stage of the waste management process moves through a series of steps of ‘workflow’ – procedural control ensuring that all waste is treated consistently and to the appropriate standards, with the necessary staff only having access to options at the appropriate stages. We are able to configure any workflow process to mirror your existing procedures and guidelines and we are also able to keep a ‘workflow log’ recording who moved each item through the stages of the process and when.

ISO proforma - reporting

As part of the requirement to meet ISO standards, ADMiT automatically transfers the information from the database into a report meeting the appropriate layout and content requirements. We are able to configure any number of reports to the style and format of your existing management requirements.

barcode scanning

With a large number of labelled items moving through the process it is easy for users and handlers to mis-key reference numbers. ADMiT produces barcoded labels that can be stuck onto each item, and then integrates with barcode scanners throughout the process, ensuring information is transferred to the database quickly and reliably. This helps ensure compliance with the quality standards throughout the waste management and supercompaction process.
