ESiT is dedicated to providing data management software to support organisations within the not-for-profit (NFP), commercial and environment sectors. Since 1992 when the company was founded, we have delivered a range of solutions, from consultancy in the early days to the provision today of both bespoke and standard software solutions built on the ADMiT System, accompanied by all the necessary training, service and support.

In the early 1990s ESiT were frequently approached to deliver software to enable different IT systems to ‘talk’ to each other. To meet this need ADMiT and a range of bespoke solutions from document and drawing management systems to asset management software were developed.

The first customer relationship management (CRM) solution was delivered to a local charity in 1997 and since then the thankQ product has been developed and refined and now attracts the majority of our business focus. However, by maintaining a presence in these diverse sectors we are able to constantly share ideas between them, adding unique insight to the service we provide.

The company reaches across the globe; the head office is in the UK, at Loughborough, Leicestershire and in 2003 ESiT opened an office in Sydney, Australia, to meet the needs of the Pacific NFP market.

Missions and Values

Our mission is to provide data management software, services and support, based on the 'ADMiT System'. We aim to bring honesty, openness and innovation to our working relationships for the benefit of customers and staff, whilst optimising business effectiveness through the exploitation of available Information Technology.

So what are we really like to work with? Our staff have a strong desire to deliver what our customers actually need by listening to them and trying to understand the business or process for which they are providing a solution. We work openly with our customers to help them get the most from existing systems and data enabling us to deliver a solution that fits their organisation; we want to be a partner and not just a software company providing a ‘black box’ solution.

Accreditation

ISO 9001:2008 - Quality Assurance

ESiT is in the minority of just 2.5% of organisations who have gained ISO 9001:2008 accreditation.

We were awarded this accreditation, in March 2002, in recognition of our consistently high standards in our project delivery and procedures. All our procedures are built around sensible project management processes. We use our own thankQ-based ‘Office System’ to manage and control consistently, all our documents, contacts, financial and sales order processing requirements.

To maintain the accreditation, our staff and projects are assessed regularly ensuring we understand and follow procedures, and that mechanisms are in place to incorporate feedback from customers and staff.

BS8555 - Environmental Management System

In February 2008, assisted by the Green Team at Groundwork Leicester and Leicestershire and funding from EMDA, ESiT became one of only 216 businesses in the UK to achieve Phase 3 of BS8555, a recognised British Standard for Environmental Management Systems. Companies implementing an EMS must show that they manage their environmental impact, improve their environmental performance and obey legislation.

ESiT’s Corporate & Social Responsibility policy was already well-developed at the start of the accreditation process and the high level of commitment shown at all levels in our organisation was a major contributory factor to our success in obtaining the Standard.

The company is assessed annually by an independent body to ensure that not only have procedures been followed but also that objectives and targets have been achieved, resulting in a positive impact on the environment. Only then is the accreditation renewed.

Current Vacancies

ESiT is a software supplier based in Loughborough, primarily delivering its “thankQ” CRM and Fundraising database solutions to the charity sector.

ESiT is undergoing an exciting transition as we expand to meet our goals for the next 5 years. All of these positions are new roles across the company, which is undergoing a rebranding exercise and having its offices refurbished at the end of the autumn to accommodate that expansion. Our growth is underpinned by the strong emphasis we place on the development and welfare of staff and our BS8555 environmental accreditation shows that we continue to work hard to make a positive impact on society and the environment.

Database Application Developer

Our Application Developers work in small project teams in close contact with the client to develop database solutions, built using SQL Server and our own high-level database programming tools.
We are interested in hearing from new or recent graduates who ideally possess most or all of the following:

  • a 2:1 or above, in any computing, mathematical, engineering or other scientific discipline
  • a sound technical approach to problem solving demonstrated by a final year project or commercial experience
  • a high standard of written and spoken English
  • commercial experience gained either via a University placement or other employment
  • experience of database development, ideally SQL Server
  • knowledge of the not for profit / fundraising / voluntary sector

The role represents an opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of technologies and elements of the project implementation process, requiring candidates with a sound technical approach to problem solving and confidence and clarity when dealing with clients.
As a Database Application Developer you will:

  • develop, test and install thankQ software applications
  • work in a SQL Server environment, to map business logic from client specifications into the thankQ software
  • perform data mapping and transfer from legacy systems
  • liaise with the client to develop a solution tuned to their needs
  • work within an ISO9001 quality system

Implementation Engineer

Our Account Management team build close relationships with our customers to make sure they get the most out of thankQ and within that team the Implementation Engineer will gain broad exposure to the entire thankQ customer base, building a broad knowledge of the software and our customers’ needs.
We are interested in hearing from candidates who ideally possess most or all of the following:

  • relevant academic qualification or experience of working in a database environment
  • experience of database administration, ideally SQL Server
  • experience of working in a Windows environment
  • a sound technical approach to problem solving demonstrable through academic project or commercial experience
  • a high standard of written and spoken English
  • confidence, clarity and warmth in dealing with customers
  • knowledge of the not for profit / fundraising / voluntary sector

The role represents an opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of technologies including SQL Server and our own high-level database programming tools.
As a member of the Account Management Team you will:

  • assist in the migration of customer data from legacy systems into thankQ
  • implement changes to the standard thankQ solution to meet customer requirements
  • implement fixes and release new kits to customers
  • meet with customers and discuss their requirements
  • develop a broad knowledge of thankQ functionality
  • work in a SQL Server environment
  • work within an ISO9001 quality system
